Vol. 17 No. 17 (2024): DRYNOVSKY SBIRNYK
Volume 17 of the Drinovsky Sbornik comprises scientific articles and materials presented at the plenary session and first three thematic panels of the International Scientific Conference “Ukraine and its Neighbours: Problems of Ethnogenesis, National Building and International Relations in Central and Eastern Europe (from the Middle Ages to the era of globalisation): the 11th DRINOV READINGS”. This academic forum was held outside of Kharkiv for the first time, specifically in Sofia on November 14–15, 2024. This decision was made due to the ongoing Russian full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The forum was organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. In addition to the official part of the plenary session, the volume contains 25 peer-reviewed articles, organized into four thematic sections: “The Slavs, Rus', and their neighbours in the Middle Ages: problems of religious, ethnic, and political identity,” “The 'Cossack Nation' at the crossroads: the early modern Ukrainian state in the nets of the Tsardom of Muscovy and the Russian Empire”, “Nation building in the imperial era: the struggle of 'national pojects' in the European context (late 18th – early 20th centuries)”. It also includes traditional sections from the Drinovsky Sbornik, such as “Source Studies and Historiography”, “Reviews,” “Scientific Life,” and “In Memoriam.” The volume is intended for professional historians, students of humanities departments, and a wide range of readers.
