Abstract

The article deals with the Maori borrowings in New Zealand English. The periods of borrowing are determined, the thematic groups of maorisms are defined, typical social contexts of borrowing in the process of language contexts, the peculiarities of adaptation in the language-recepient as compared with the language-donor are considered.
