Зовнішньополітичні орієнтири віфінського царя Зіела. У світлі нових коських написів

Анотація
Поява цієї публікації зумовлена відкриттям нового блоку написів з острову Кос, що їх опублікували у 50-му томі журналу «Chiron» Д. Боснакіс і К. Халлоф. З-поміж цих написів, датованих 243 р. до Р.Х., особливий інтерес викликають два царські листи, пов’язані з визнанням асилії коського храму бога Асклепія. Перший з них належить цареві Віфінії Зіелу, другий — селевкідській цариці Лаодіці І, матері Селевка ІІ й Антіоха Гієракса. Комплексний аналіз змісту цих документів спонукає до перегляду наших уявлень про зовнішньополітичні пріоритети царя Зіела, починаючи з другої половини 240-х рр. до Р.Х. На підставі вже відомого більш раннього листа Зіела Віфінського до громадян Косу (IG XII, 4, 1, 209), поєднаного зі змістом пасажу Хроніки Євсевія Кесарійського (Euseb. Chron. Schoene, I, 251), значна кількість сучасних дослідниківдоходила висновку стосовно існування тривалого союзу між зазначеним віфінським царем і володарем держави Птолемеїв — Птолемеєм ІІІ Евергетом. На їхню думку, цей союз, утворений на початку другої половини 240-х рр. до Р.Х., проіснував як мінімум до середини 230-х рр. до Р.Х. Натомість, з огляду на спостереження, що їх зробили на підставі нових царських листів Д. Боснакіс, К. Халлоф і автор цієї публікації, можна говорити лише про дуже нетривалий характер політичного альянсу між Зіелом і Птолемеєм ІІІ. Невдовзі після угоди Зіел повернувся на звичну для себе селевкідську політичну орбіту. Такий висновок випливає з огляду на відсутність згадок про Птолемея ІІІ в новому листі віфінського царя у поєднанні з вказівками на контакти між останнім і відверто ворожою до Евергета Лаодікою І. Імовірно, цей крок Зіела був продиктований відсутністю реальної військово-політичної підтримки з боку олександрійського володаря. Факт розриву короткочасних відносин між Зіелом і Птолемеєм ІІІ разом зі свідченнями відомих нам джерел дозволяє говорити про незмінність подальшого перебування віфінського царя у сфері впливу Селевкідів.
