History of the journal

 

The publication was founded in 1994 at the Department of Ukrainian Studies of Kharkiv State University. At that time, it was called "Scientific Notes of the Department of Ukrainian Studies of Kharkiv University". It covered issues of the history of Ukraine and Ukrainian spiritual culture of the 19th - early 20th centuries, the history of the Slobozhanshchyna, and introduced new documents and materials into scientific circulation.
In 1996, the journal was renamed "Bulletin of Kharkiv University". Its first issues examined current problems of the history of Ukraine, the formation and activities of its political institutions, parties, movements and public organizations. Initially, it was published once a year.
In 2001, the journal was called "Bulletin of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University: History of Ukraine series", and since 2004 it has been called "V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Bulletin ‘History of Ukraine. Ukrainian Studies: Historical and Philosophical Sciences". After 2007, the issues of the Bulletin are published twice a year. To date, 40 issues of the Bulletin have been published.
