OPIUM WARS: POLITICAL DILEMMAS OF HISTORY AND MODERNITY
Abstract
The problems of military conflicts between leading countries of South and West China and Great Britain) in XIX century are considered. These conflicts are a new type of fight, since they had not conducted for capture of territories, but for holding of numerous resources and sales markets. It is concluded that such conflicts are put in question the very existence of a certain state on the world political map, which population perceives such conflict as a national trauma.
