HISTORICAL TRADITIONS OF CIVIL SOCIETY IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The analysis of the origins of the Ukrainian civil society provides reasons to believe that despotism had never been typical for the historical forms of life in Ukraine until the time it became dependent on Russia. A democratic institutions and civic orientations that have existed in Ukrainian history in specific and probably undeveloped form have had a significant impact on social and political life of the country.
