Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The text meets the requirements for presentation, style and bibliography set out in the author guidelines below.
- This manuscript has never been published or submitted for publication to other journals (or there are necessary explanations given in the comments for the editor below).
- The submitted file is a document in both MS Word and RTF formats.
- Internet links in the text contain full and correct URLs.
Author Guidelines
When submitting a manuscript, an author must confirm that it meets all the requirements stated below. Manuscripts that do not satisfy the requirements will be returned for improvement.
The journal publishes materials that deal with methods of (Ukrainian and foreign) language teaching in higher educational institutions, principles of writing textbooks and tutorials, teaching language aspects and place of culturology in the process of teaching foreign languages, and intersubject relations.
Language of publication: Ukrainian, English.
An article must contain the following elements: “a statement of a problem and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks; analysis of recent studies and publications dealing with the problem and serving as a basis for the author’s research; isolation of previously unsolved parts of a general problem; problem statement; presentation of the main material with comprehensive substantiation of the results; conclusions and perspectives of further research of the issue (Bulletin of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine No1, 2003).
Formatting requirements
- The UDC index should be typed in the left top corner before the title in 12 pt.
- The title should be typed in 14 pt, ALL CAPS, bold, centered, no full stop.
- The author’s surname and initials followed by their academic degree and city name in brackets (and country for foreign authors) after comma are typed in the next paragraph in 14 pt, bold, centered, 1 spacing, in the article’s language.

An annotation in the same language as the article is typed in the next paragraph in 12 pt, 1 spacing. Length: in English – no less than 2000 characters without spaces and no more than 2100; in Ukrainian or Russian – no less than 1800 characters without spaces and no more than 2000.
Annotations should contain a brief statement of topicality, aim, methods of research, main results and conclusions. - Annotations in two different languages (Ukrainian or English) are typed in the next paragraph in 12 pt, 1 spacing. They are preceded by the surnames and initials of the authors, and the title of the article in the article’s language (new paragraph, indent, bold, justified).
- Each annotation is followed by key words in alphabetical order (no more than 5) preceded by an indent and the words “Key words” in 12 pt, bold, starting with the capital letter and ending in a colon.
- The body text is typed without automatic hyphenation; 14 pt, 1,5 spacing, left, top, bottom margins – 2,5, right – 1; justified; indent – 1.25. If you use special fonts, symbols, illustrations or tables (in MS Word), please enclose them in separate files. Dashes (–) and hyphens (-) are differentiated.
- Illustrative language material should be given in italics.
- According to an order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, an article must contain substantiation of the topic, a level of its development, actuality, and purpose of analysis, problem statement, conclusions and perspectives of further research. All these elements should be given in bold. Sample of formatting see in Supplement 1.
- Text references are given in square brackets in accordance with the enumeration of the list of references, e.g. [1: 35] where a first number is an ordinal and a second one is a number of the cited page.
- The reference list should be placed at the end part of the article starting with the word LITERATURE typed in bold capital letters without left indent. An enumerated list of cited works in the alphabetical order of their authors and titles (12 pt, 1 spacing) drawn in accordance with the standards of the Higher Attestation Commission should be given below. A list of sources of the illustrative material could be provided if necessary. The list of references must include sources published within the last five years, as well as references to scholarly publications indexed in the scientometric bases Scopus and/or Web of Science. The references should contain DOI if assigned. An example of a formatted article see in the Supplement.
- To be included in scientometric databases, the list of references should be presented twice: first, according to the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission, as LITERATURE (for an article in English) and then, according to the international standards, as REFERENCES.

When citing in Cyrillic it is necessary to give the author’s (official) English title of an article (or other publication) and the authors’ names or if not available transliterate the names and titles.
Titles of periodicals (journals) should be presented according to their official ISSN titles in Roman script (can be checked out at a journal’s site or in an academic online database (sciencedirect.com, Academic periodicals of Ukraine and many others).
References must include DOI if assigned.
We recommend you to transliterate articles’ titles automatically using sites http://www.translit.ru (for Russian) and http://translit.kh.ua (for Ukrainian).
- The block of references is followed in the next paragraph by information about the authors (indent, 12 pt, 1 spacing, justified) in three languages (Ukrainian, Russian and English) as follows: surname, name, patronymic (in full, bold), academic degree, academic rank, position, place of work (department, university), postal address of their university, city and postal code including (and the country for foreign authors), author’s e-mail and ORCID ID (in ordinary font).
14. The length of a paper should be 10 to 12 pages.
15. The article should be sent to the Editorial Board by e-mail to vyklad.mov@karazin.ua in .doc format (MS Word for Windows, version 6.0, 7.0) and backed up with a file in .rtf format.
16. The electronic manuscript should be without pagination.
17. When submitting your article, you should enclose a scanned first page with the statement: “The article [Title of the article] does not contain plagiarism” and your signature to verify the absence of plagiarism.
18. Information about the author(s) should be also enclosed in a separate file including: surname, name, patronymic (in full), academic degree, rank, position, place of work, contact phone, postal and e-mail addresses, and ОRCID ID.Authors without academic degrees should also enclose a review by a candidate of science or a doctor of science.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject articles that do not meet the above requirements.

Articles intended to be included in a December issue should be submitted till Oktober 15, articles intended to be included in a June issue should be submitted till March 1. Articles submitted after the deadlines could be considered for inclusion in a next issue.
Authors who wish to participate in the annual international scientific and practical conference “Teaching languages at higher educational establishments at the present stage. Intersubject relations” that takes place in the beginning of June should state this in the information about the author. The application for participation in the conference please see in Supplement 2.
Articles are published free of charge. Payment in the amount of UAH 500 is made for services of layout of materials. The payment details are communicated after the approval of the article for printing. Applicants for the third level of higher education in the budget form of training are exempt from any payment (contributions) for the processing, review and/or publication of articles written by them alone (without co-authors).
COPYRIGHT NOTICE
Authors submitting publications for this edition agree to the following terms:
- The authors retain the copyright to their publications and grant the journal “Man and Environment. Issues of Neoecology” for the right of first publication.
- Submission and acceptance of a publication to the journal means that the authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the material in print and electronic form and to include it in international abstracting and bibliographic databases.
- Authors may:
- deposit the published version of their work in institutional or disciplinary repositories,
- distribute it on personal or professional web pages,
- use the material for educational or research purposes,
provided that:
- the publication is not altered,
- it is not used for commercial purposes,
- a complete bibliographic reference for the publication in the journal is provided.
Authors' Responsibility
- The authors guarantee that the submitted publication is an original work and does not infringe on the copyrights or intellectual property of third parties.
- The authors confirm that this manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another publisher.
- If the publication uses materials (figures, tables, data, etc.) belonging to third parties, the authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and for correctly citing the sources.
Publisher's Responsibility
- This publication ensures a transparent and ethical publication process, as well as open access to all materials in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
- The publication guarantees long-term digital preservation of content by archiving it in internal and external repositories.
PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH MISCONDUCT
The Journal handles allegations of misconduct with confidentiality, impartiality, and thoroughness, following COPE guidelines::
- Receipt of Complaint
- Complaints may be submitted regarding suspected misconduct in submitted or published articles. Complaints should be detailed and evidence-based.
- Preliminary Assessment
- The editorial office reviews the complaint to assess its validity and relevance.
- Investigation
- The editor contacts the corresponding author(s) to provide an explanation, supporting evidence, and clarification.
- External experts or institutional authorities may be consulted as needed.
- Resolution
- If misconduct is confirmed during review, the manuscript will be rejected.
- If misconduct is confirmed after publication, appropriate actions may include erratum, clarification, or retraction.
- Non-Response or Unsatisfactory Explanation
- If authors do not respond or provide an inadequate explanation, the Journal may proceed with retraction or other corrective measures.
- Notification and Conclusion
- Complainants are informed of the outcome, and the case is considered closed once the resolution is implemented.
RETRACTION OF PUBLICATIONS
General Provisions
Teaching Languages at Higher educational establishments at the present stage. Intersubject relations adheres to the recommendations COPE retraction of publications
- The scientific article text recall from a publication (retraction) is a mechanism for correcting the published information and warning readers about the matter that a published scientific article contains serious faults or erroneous data that cannot be trusted. The inaccuracy of the data can result from both a conscientious delusion and deliberate violations.
- Retraction is also used to warn readers about instances of publications duplication (when authors submit the same data in several publications), plagiarism, and interest conflicts concealment that could affect the interpretation of the data or recommendations for their use.
- The main goalof retraction is the correction of the published information and ensuring its integrity, but not the punishment of authors who committed violations.
Reasons and grounds for recalling an article
The grounds for recalling the article are violation of ethical principles of the journal.
The reasons for the recalling of the article include:
- The presence of undue borrowings in a significant amount;
- Duplication of the article in several editions;
- Detection in the paper of fabrications or falsifications (for example, juggling research data);
- Detection of serious mistakes in the paper (for example, results misinterpretation), which casts doubt on the scientific value of the material;
- Incorrect authors composition (There being included the persons who do not meet the criteria of authorship or there is no one who is worthy to be considered as an author);
- The conflict of interests (and other violations of the publication ethics) is hidden;
- Re-publication of the article without the consent of the author;
- Other violations of the ethical principles of the journal.
The grounds for the recalling of the article are:
- The author's appeal for the article recalling;
- Decision of the journal’s editor-in-chief.
The procedure for recalling an article
- The decision for recalling the article is made by the editorial board of the journal on the recommendation of the journal’s editor-in-chief, containing information on the existence of an excuse for recalling the article specified by these rules. The decision to recall the article is made taking into account the author's response to the article, which justifies his/her position on the issue of recalling the article, upon receipt of this response.
- If the author/teamof authors find it necessary to recall the article, they appeal to the editorial office, explaining the reason for their decision reasonably. The editorial board responds to the authors and, if there are grounds for retraction, it independently retracts the text of the article.
- If the editorial boarddecides to recall the article text on the basis of its expertise or the information received, the author(s) are informed of this and asked his/her opinion on the submission validity of the editor-in-chief on the article recalling. If the author/team ignores the editorial request, the editorial board has the right to apply to the Council for the Ethics of Scientific Publications and (or) to recall the publication without taking into account the author's opinion.
- The decision to recall an article is made out in the minutes of the meeting of the journal’s Editorial Board.
- By deciding to recall the article, the editorial board indicates the reason for the retraction (in case of detection of plagiarism - with reference to sources of borrowing), as well as the date of retraction. The article and the article description remain on the journal’s website as part of the corresponding issue of the journal, the inscription "RETRACTED" and the date of retraction are applied to the electronic version of the text, the same note is placed in the article and in the table of contents of the issue.
- The journal’s editor-in-chief sends the minutes of the meeting of the journal’s Editorial Board to the Council for the Ethics of Scientific Publications and the database of scientific information, which indicates the date of the meeting, the composition of the meeting, the results of the examination, an informed decision and the completed form:
- Author's name and title of the article
- The title of the publication from which the text is recalled
- The initiator of the article's review
- Grounds for recalling the article and the date of the decision
- Link to the page on the website of the publication, on which information is given on the retraction
- The output of the article and the DOI (if any)
- Theme of the article
- The author (the lead author in the case of collective authorship) is sent the minutes of the meeting of the journal’s Editorial Board with a formulation that justifies the reason for the article's recalling.
- The journal’s editorial board, along with the decision to recall the article, may decide to impose a ban on the adoption of articles from the author of a retracted article for a certain period of time.
- The information about the retraction of the article is posted on the journal's website on the Internet.
