Plagiarism screening policy
All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using a plagiarism detection system prior to being forwarded for peer review.
Manuscripts in which plagiarism, excessive levels of unoriginal text, or evidence of textual borrowing without proper attribution are detected shall be rejected.
The following practices are deemed unacceptable:
- verbatim reproduction of text fragments from other works without quotation marks and a reference to the source
- minor rephrasing of another author’s text without proper attribution
- excessive use of paraphrasing from a limited number of sources
- self-plagiarism: submission of work that substantially overlaps with the author’s previously published materials without disclosure of this fact
- simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to more than one publication
In accordance with the Regulations on the System for the Prevention and Detection of Academic Plagiarism at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, all manuscripts accepted for publication are verified for the absence of academic plagiarism.
