Author Guidelines

The authors are responsible for the content of the publication and declare that it is their own work and that the results have not been previously published. The editorial board of the journal “Current Issues in Public Administration” is not responsible for the content of the articles and may not share the author’s opinion.

All submitted articles undergo plagiarism checks using electronic verification systems that are technically and legally available to the publisher. This check takes place prior to peer review and before a decision to publish is made.

Languages of publication: Ukrainian or English.

Submission of an article to the journal “Current Issues in Public Administration” automatically constitutes the author’s agreement with

the editorial policy currently in effect at our journal,
the ethical principles of article review and editing,
the open access policy,
and the university’s copyright and confidentiality provisions.

The average time for reviewing an article for compliance with requirements and checking for plagiarism is 10 days.

The average review period is 30 days.

The publication timeframe for accepted articles is typically up to 190 days (the journal is published twice a year).

Deadlines for article submission: April 30 and November 30 of each year.

Articles are automatically rejected if they do not fit the journal’s scope or if their formatting does not meet the requirements.

Recommended length of a research article: 15 to 40 pages (excluding the reference list and abstract).

The following basic requirements apply to all articles:

a scholarly style of presentation (precision, logical consistency, conciseness of arguments, clarity, coherence between structural and logical units, integrity, and completeness) of the material.
The article must align with the journal’s research priorities;
The article must take into account leading contemporary publications on the relevant subject matter;
The length of the main text of the article (excluding the abstract, author information, bibliography, and other metadata) must be at least 20,000 characters (including spaces);
The article must be relevant, contain clear elements of novelty and/or practical utility, reflect the formulation of the research question (problem), provide an overview and critical analysis of existing research or public policy on the chosen topic, include research approaches and methodologies, describe research findings and conclusions, and meet technical requirements;
the proportion of direct quotations must not exceed 10% of the article’s main text, provided that quotations are formatted in accordance with generally accepted rules. All texts are checked for plagiarism using specialized anti-plagiarism systems;
the reference list must contain at least 20 sources. At least 90% of all cited sources must be references to original Ukrainian and foreign (excluding publications from the aggressor country!) scientific articles and expert reports.
The following are not included in the bibliography: newspaper clippings without an author’s name, and links to websites without specifying a particular article (references to such sources are provided in footnotes);

If an article does not conform to the journal’s scope or fails to meet at least one of the listed basic requirements, it will be rejected without being sent for peer review, and the author will be notified by email within 15 calendar days.

Under Ukraine’s Law “On Higher Education,” the use of data presented in defended dissertation research or in previously published articles is not permitted.

The journal offers open access to its issues.

Publication of articles is free of charge.

 

Technical Formatting Requirements

The article text must be formatted as A4, with margins of 2 cm on all sides, a paragraph spacing of 1.25 cm, line spacing of 1.5 (1.0 line spacing for tables and figures), Times New Roman font, 14-point font size for the main text of the article, and 12–14-point font size for graphs and tables embedded directly in the text.

Text alignment: justified. Orientation: portrait.

Materials must be saved and prepared in Microsoft Word format (*.doc or *.docx).

Manuscript pages are not numbered.

Translating the text using online services without subsequent proofreading and editing of the translation is not permitted.

Each table and figure must be referenced in the text of the article and identified by their sequential numbers, for example, (Fig. 2), (Table 5).

The reference list must include works published within the last five years, including foreign sources (at least 20%), and the list itself must contain at least 20 references.

If the manuscript was prepared by multiple authors, a corresponding author must be designated to facilitate prompt communication with the editorial board should any questions arise.

Citations:

Proper citation is mandatory. The author bears full responsibility for the accuracy of citations.
References to sources and literature used in the text should be formatted as follows: [5, p. 87], where “5” is the source number in the reference list and “p. 87” is the page number. References to multiple scholarly publications are cited as follows: [3, p. 156; 4; 8, pp. 22–23].
For articles by foreign authors or domestic manuscripts written in English, it is permissible to use the following international citation styles traditionally applied in the humanities and social sciences: either MLA (Modern Language Association) style, APA (American Psychological Association) style, or Harvard style.
For each source used (if applicable) in the reference list, the corresponding unique DOI identifier should be included, which is typically provided in all contemporary scholarly publications.
It is recommended to use and cite recent (from the last 4–5 years) and highly influential scholarly works published in journals of unquestionable reputation.
The editorial board recommends including in the reference list materials that the author (co-authors) have previously prepared, particularly those produced during the research underlying the article, including even their conference papers, presentations from educational and scientific seminars, etc.
