Data availability statement

Authors of empirical research articles are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscripts, specifying whether and how the data supporting their findings may be accessed.

Recommended formulations:

  • “The data supporting the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name] at [URL/DOI].”
  • “The data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
  • “The data are not publicly available due to [reason, e.g. confidentiality, national security restrictions] but are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
  • “No datasets were generated or analysed during this study.”

Given the Collection’s thematic focus on public administration, including governance under conditions of armed conflict, the editorial board recognises that certain data may be subject to restrictions related to national security, personal data protection or institutional confidentiality.
