Copyright and Licensing Terms

1. General Provisions

These Terms define the conditions for the use of copyrighted materials (research articles, illustrations, tables, figures, supplementary materials) published in the journal Scientific Notes of the Pedagogical Department.

The journal’s policy is based on the principles of:

  • retention of copyright by authors;
  • open access;
  • transparent licensing;
  • compliance with the legislation of Ukraine and international copyright standards.

2. Copyright

2.1.

Authors retain full copyright to the materials published in the journal.

2.2.

Copyright protection applies from the date of publication of the journal issue in which the article appears.

2.3.

Submission of a manuscript to the journal implies that the author:

  • is the lawful copyright holder of the submitted material;
  • guarantees that no third-party rights are violated;
  • bears full responsibility for the content of the publication.

3. Right of First Publication

3.1.

Authors grant the journal the right of first publication of their work.

3.2.

This right is non-exclusive and does not restrict further use of the work by the author.

3.3.

Any subsequent use or republication of the work must include a reference to its first publication in this journal.

4. Content Licensing

4.1.

All journal materials are published under the following license:

Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

4.2.

The license permits users to:

  • read, download, copy, and distribute materials;
  • adapt and remix content;

provided that they:

  • give appropriate credit to the author(s) and the source;
  • provide a reference to the first publication in the journal;
  • use the materials for non-commercial purposes only;
  • distribute derivative works under the same license terms.

4.3.

Commercial use of materials by third parties without the written consent of the author and the Editorial Board is prohibited.

5. Use of Materials by Authors

5.1.

Authors have the right to:

  • reuse their materials without restriction, provided that the original publication in the journal is acknowledged;
  • publish articles in collections, monographs, and educational materials;
  • disseminate articles via personal websites, academic profiles, and institutional repositories.

5.2.

In all cases of reuse, the following statement must be clearly indicated:
“First published in the journal Scientific Notes of the Pedagogical Department

6. Deposit and Self-Archiving Policy

6.1.

The journal permits and encourages self-archiving of published materials.

6.2.

Authors may deposit:

  • the accepted manuscript version (post-peer-review);
  • the publisher’s final PDF version (Version of Record)

in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • national and international open archives;
  • personal academic profiles.

6.3.

The following conditions are mandatory:

  • inclusion of a reference to the published version in the journal;
  • retention of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license information.

7. Use of Materials by Third Parties

7.1.

Users may use journal materials for the following purposes:

  • scientific;
  • educational;
  • research purposes.

7.2.

The following are prohibited:

  • commercial use of materials without permission;
  • distribution of content for payment;
  • removal or distortion of authorship information.

8. Responsibility for Copyright Violations

8.1.

If copyright violations are identified, the Editorial Board:

  • conducts an internal investigation;
  • applies correction or retraction procedures;
  • may notify relevant institutions or rights holders.

8.2.

The author bears responsibility for the legitimacy of rights to submitted materials.

9. Final Provisions

These Terms constitute an integral part of the journal’s editorial policies and apply to all materials published in the journal.

Submission of a manuscript to the journal signifies the author’s full agreement with these Terms.
