Policy on the use of AI and AI-enabled technologies

The journal "Socioprostir: the interdisciplinary online collection of scientific works on sociology and social work" adheres to the principles of transparency, academic integrity and research ethics at all stages of preparation, submission and publication of scientific materials. In connection with the widespread use of generative artificial intelligence, the editorial board of the journal provides recommendations on their permissible use:

1) the editorial board reserves the right to request additional information from authors about the use of GenAI and to take appropriate measures in case of detection of abuse;

2) Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools cannot be indicated as authors or co-authors of the manuscript. Responsibility for the content of the article lies entirely with the authors. Authors may use GenAI for limited purposes, in particular to improve grammar or style, provided that: such use does not change the scientific content or interpretation of the data; the authors critically evaluate and verify all results generated by AI; the use of GenAI is clearly indicated in the manuscript, indicating the name of the tool and the purpose of its application. Example: AI Use Statement: Statement: During the preparation of the article, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the text and take full responsibility for the content of the published manuscript.

3) Authors are responsible for using GenAI tools in accordance with applicable ethical standards;

4) Journal editors and reviewers may use GenAI for ancillary tasks (e.g., grammar checking or brief review of the text), but this should not compromise the confidentiality or integrity of the review process.

5) Any assessment made using AI must be accompanied by human review.
