Procedure for retracting published articles

"Socioprostir" adheres to high standards of editorial ethics. In accordance with the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications (COPE), the Code of Conduct and Guidelines for Best Practice for Journal Editors, and the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers, in the presence of significant errors or violations of publication ethics, the editorial board is forced to require further retraction (retraction) of the manuscript.

Retraction policy:

The retraction policy is aimed at ensuring the reliability of scientific content, maintaining academic trust, and informing the scientific community about circumstances that may affect the interpretation of research results.

The editorial board operates in accordance with international standards of publication ethics and COPE recommendations. If significant methodological or factual errors, facts of plagiarism or self-plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, violation of the principles of authorship, hidden conflict of interest, unethical conduct of research or duplication of publication in another publication are discovered after publication, the editorial board applies appropriate response mechanisms. Depending on the nature and degree of impact of the circumstances identified, corrections, clarifications, warnings or retraction of the article may be published. A correction is published in cases of technical, editorial or minor scientific errors that do not distort the main results of the study. A clarification is used when it is necessary to provide additional explanations for individual provisions without making changes to the content of the article. A warning (expression of concern) is published in case of reasonable suspicions of possible violations, if the investigation is still ongoing and a final decision has not been made. A retraction is carried out in cases of serious violations that make the results of the study unreliable or such that they cannot be used by the scientific community. The decision on retraction is made by the editorial board on the basis of the established facts after giving the author the opportunity to provide an explanation. If necessary, independent experts may be involved. The retraction is issued in a separate message with a clear indication of the reasons for the retraction. The original text of the article is not removed from the journal archive, but is marked as “Retracted” with an appropriate explanation. All messages about corrections, warnings or retraction are linked to the original article and its DOI and are open to readers. The journal does not practice hidden removal of materials without official notification and ensures full transparency of changes related to scientific publications.

Grounds for retraction (retraction) of an article:

  • detection of serious violations of ethical norms during the research.
  • establishment of the fact of plagiarism or illegal borrowing of materials.
  • presence of significant errors in the study that make its results incorrect.
  • duplication of publication of the same material without proper reference.
  • falsification or manipulation of data.
  • lack of disclosure of a conflict of interest that affects the interpretation of the results.

Procedure for retraction (retraction) of published articles:

1) procedure for initiating retraction: the person initiating the retraction submits a written application justifying the reasons for the retraction (evidence confirming the need for refraction is attached to the application); the application is considered by the editor-in-chief within 5 working days.

2) consideration of the issue of refraction is carried out by a commission (the editor-in-chief creates a commission of 3 independent experts) - no more than 30 calendar days. The commission may take one of the following decisions: reject the request for retraction; suggest that the authors publish corrections; recommend a complete retraction of the article. The decision is made by a majority vote of the commission members.

3) authors have the right: to receive a detailed justification for the decision on retraction; to appeal the commission's decision; to publish a comment on the decision on retraction.

4) the appeal is considered by the editor-in-chief within 14 days.
