Key ethical principles:

Truthfulness. We publish only verified information. All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed and anti-plagiarism checked. Errors discovered after publication are promptly and transparently corrected.

Editorial independence. Publication decisions are made solely on the basis of the scientific quality of the submitted work. No third parties may influence editorial decisions.

Transparency. The editorial board openly reports on the review process, conflicts of interest, and publishing practices.

Non-discrimination. Manuscripts are evaluated on their scientific content without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political views.

Responsibility. The editorial board is responsible for the published content and promptly responds to any complaints or suspicions of ethical violations.

Special ethical considerations for research in wartime. Given the thematic focus of the Compendium on governance in armed conflict, authors should ensure that the published material does not jeopardize national security, the safety of individuals, or the confidentiality of critical infrastructure data.
