THE ISSUE OF THE CENTER AND PERIPHERY IN HISTORICAL CAPITALISM: WORLD-SYSTEMS THEORY
Abstract
The article examines the essential characteristics related to the core and periphery in the context of historical capitalism development and monopoly technologies of capital accumulation. The author overviews the basic strategies of capitalism over the past five hundred years, as well as the role of peripheral markets in shaping of the international economy and their impact on the global hegemon’s appearance.
