ADVANCED TRAINING AND RETRAINING (ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION) AS FACTORS OF SHAPING PROFESSIONALISM OF POLICEMEN

Abstract

the normative and organizational bases of police officer’s postgraduate education are analyzed in the article, among them training and qualification’s improving. The peculiarities of the police officer’s postgraduate educational process organization are researched. In the article the author mentioned about using the experience of the leading countries in the law enforcement’s reforming in Ukraine, formation of National police, organizing the police officer’s postgraduate education (training, qualification’s improving) by the leadership of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Moreover, the author noticed that sometimes there is a direct coping of Western system’s education to Ukrainian system of education without considering our cultural and traditional peculiarities. The author made a conclusion that the police officer’s specialization, the specific features of a region should be considered and the activities should have a greater practical orientation.
