Qualitative assessment of the diversification level of natural gas supply in European union

Abstract

The article provides the methodological approach to the qualitative assessment of the diversification level of natural gas supply in the European Union. This approach determines the upper limit of natural gas supply volume from one external source. The minimum neededquantity of the external natural gas sources is determined by the ratio of the aggregate nominal volume of natural gas supply to the upper limit of natural gas supply volume from one external source and determines the number of external sources of natural gas which are required for ensuring a minimum level of diversification.
