From the history of the creation of the “Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Verkhny Saltov" (1984–1999)

Abstract

Excerpts on the history of foundation of the “Historical archaeological museum-preserve “Verkhniy Saltiv” (1984 – 1999). The paper presents background to the foundation of the historical archaeological museum in the village Verkhniy Saltiv, which central theme is historic coverage of the research of archaeological monument, that gave name to the saltovo-mayats’ka culture (latter half of the VIII – first half of the X century). The foundation of the museum in the village Verkhniy Saltiv is strongly associated with the person of Kharkiv archaeologist V.G. Borodulin, who was its first director.
