In the paper the important role in development of the Ukrainian archeology the Archaeological conferences of the boundary XIX-XX centuries is underlined. Is presented research history of the Upper Paleolithic sites at the Severski Donets basin territory, opened within century. The institutions and foundations, the amateurs and scientists who conducted of the investigations are named. Now the region sites are qualitative source study base for the solution of the Upper Paleolithic problems of the Eastern Europe.
