Allusion as а speech means of realizing intertextuality in the text of English parody

Abstract
The article demonstrates mechanics of interdependence between the text of parody and the precedental text. The text of parody is regarded as a system that creates and realizes intertextual contacts. The study reveals the allusion peculiarities and characteristics which determine realization of intertextuality in the text of English parody. Allusion is considered as an intertext, i.e. an element of the precedental text. Allusions make the text of parody more complicated as they refer it to the precedental text.
