Hygienic quality of water in rivers Bukovina Carpathians as an indicator of regional ecological safety
Abstract
Investigated indicators of hygienic quality of the water basin White Cheremosh one of the forest areas of Bukovina Carpathians. The results indicatean increase inthe value of BOD from the beginnings up to the mouth of the White Cheremosh. Downstream there is pollution of river water washings of the organic nature of the coastal and water protection zone, decaying with dissolved oxygen. This trendis significantly enhancedduring the transition from winter-springtosummer season. We discuss practical approach improving the environmental safety of mountain ecosystems through waste disposal timber.
