The reconstruction of soft tissues viscoelastic properties based on the data on excitation and relaxation of local impulse shear strains

Abstract

For the elaboration of the optimal algorithm to reconstruct the viscoelastic properties of soft tissues it has been done in the present paper the comparative analysis of known models describing the relaxation of local impulse shear strains. From this point of view, the principal limitations were discussed which are superimposed on new local soft tissue mechanical properties research methods, using radiation pressure force of focused acoustic waves. It was revealed the conditions provide the most precise quantitative estimation of hardness and viscosity with the aid of these methods, which are sensitive to different pathological states of tissues. It is proposed the new algorithm for simultaneous estimation of these tissue parameters enabling the maximal usage of data on the relaxation of shear strains induced by radiation force.
