Public administrative analysis of the impacts of socio-economic development on key parameters of sustainable development
Abstract
The article establishes the relationship between individual main indicators of socio-economic development and indicators of sustainable development of the territory, where previously a set of indicators and indicators was identified, and reveals the essence of such relationships. It has been proven that scientific research on the assessment of sustainable (balanced) development is not fully aligned with domestic regulations on the assessment of the activities of public administration bodies.
The article analyzes the dynamics of individual indicators of sustainable development, starting from 2015, that is, from the moment of adoption in Ukraine of regulatory documents on the implementation of sustainable development ideas. This analysis gave grounds to assert positive trends in the values of all selected indicators that could be obtained from open data, namely gross regional product, investment in fixed assets, poverty and employment levels, and carbon dioxide emissions. That is, indicators were selected that reflected all three components of sustainable development. This gave grounds to conclude that there is a relationship and interdependence between socio-economic indicators and indicators of sustainable development, and even the idea of sustainable development, which was not fully implemented in the practice of public administration, had signs of its implementation with positive socio-economic development of territories. The article states that trends in the implementation of sustainable development in Ukraine can be traced only until the start of a full-scale war, and subsequent data demonstrate negative changes in the state, and therefore in its sustainable development.
The article argues that, having significant natural and human capital, our state can restore its economy after the end of hostilities only if the ideas and requirements of sustainable development are implemented. In this case, it is advisable to proceed from indicators of the environmental component of sustainable development. It is concluded that when assessing the state of development of territories, it is advisable to take sustainable development indicators as a basis, and socio-economic indicators can be used in assessing specific industries and spheres of the national economy.
