TO THE PROBLEM OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES STUDYING BY STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF GERMAN LANGUAGE)
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the music inflence on a foreign language study at the initial level of language profiiency. Until now, the question about the inflence of music on the process of memorizing foreign words remains unconcerned. There is no single point of view on this issue. Foreign
studies in this fild noted the positive inflence of music on the memorization process, emphasized the relationship between the nature of music and the emotional coloration of memorized words.
The students of the Faculty of Psychology, whose German language corresponds to A1 level, took part in the study. Students were asked to memorize 20 words of common vocabulary and 20 words of professional vocabulary in German with music and without musical accompaniment.
In the process of empirical research, it was established that, regardless of the musical accompaniment, students showed higher rates in studying foreign words of common vocabulary, in contrast to professionally oriented vocabulary. It was established the positive inflence of music on the process of memorizing and reproducing professional vocabulary, compared to the general one. It is empirically established that the musical accompaniment increases the number of errors at the initial level of language profiiency.
The perspective of further research is in studying the inflence of music on the process of teaching a foreign language to students with a higher level of language profiiency.
