THE ROLE OF THE «GREATER MIDDLE EAST» CONCEPT IN THE SECURITY POLICY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Abstract
The essence and the emergence of the «Greater Middle East» concept in American political discourse are analyzed. The attention is focused on the impact of imaginary geography on security policy and geopolitical codes of the state. The interactions between the symbolic level of politics and political decisions, as well as the transformation of the mental borders of the Middle East, are described.Downloads
