BETWEEN DETRIBALIZATION AND RETRIBALIZATION: POLITICAL ROLE OF THE TRIBES IN CONTEMPORARY IRAQ
Abstract
This article is devoted to researching the role of tribes in the political life of the modern Iraq under conflicting processes of detribalization and retribalization of society. The difficult relationships between tribes and state are analyzed. An attempt to appraise the political potential of Iraqi tribes is undertaken.Downloads
