HISTORY OF THOUGHT ABOUT SOCIAL SPACE OF CINEMA: BENJAMIN, KRAKAUER, LEFEBVRE
Abstract
In the following article the concept of the social space of cinema is developed on the material of a critical analysis of the materialistic conceptions of cinema by W. Benjamin, S. Krakauer and A. Lefebvre. Social space is understood in the A. Lefebvre’s line of thought as a dynamic set of spatial practices, representations of spaces and representational spaces, which is both the product and the material basis for the emergence of new social practices and forms of social consciousness. The need to develop a spatio-analytical materialist method in the study of the social space of cinema is based on the rethinking of K. Marx’s remarks.
