Анотація

Cтаття містить короткий опис основних тенденцій та етапів розвитку українських і російських історичних студій на Заході (переважно в Північній Америці) в другій половині 20-на початку 21 століть. Основну увагу приділено методології, термінології та інтерпретації української та російської історії. Західні історики, намагаючись з’ясувати характер українсько-російських відносин, стикаються з перешкодами, котрі пояснюються політичними преференціями авторів та впливом традиційних стереотипів радянського минулого.
