The investigation of the erythrocyte membranes hydration before and after radiotherapy
Abstract
The temperature dependence of the frequency of water molecules dielectric relaxation and hydration in the erythrocytes and erythrocyte membranes of donors and oncological patients within the temperature range of 1-47°С has been studied by the microwave dielectric method. It has been shown that the structural changes in the erythrocyte membranes of the oncological patients within the temperature range 8-15°C are accompanied by the change of the membrane permeability for the water molecules and the relation of free and bound water. The increasing of the erythrocyte membranes hydration at cancer leads to extension of hydrated layer and slowing down of water diffusion through a membrane. The structural transition is preceded by membrane dehydration of the oncological patients. The result is the decrease of water mobility in erythrocyte in comparison with water mobility in the environmental physiological solution.
