Permeability of rat hepatocyte plasma membrane for water molecule in non-isotonic medium of electrolyte
Abstract
Rat hepatocyte osmotic behavior in non-isotonic medium of electrolyte (NaCl) was studied using the method of light microscopy. Cell dehydration kinetic curves obtained analytically by means of nonequilibrium thermodynamics equations, were used to calculate numerical values of hepatocyte membrane filtration coefficient for water molecule (Lp) and a volumetric part of osmotically non-active intracellular substances as well. It was established, that the filtration coefficient L depends on the electrolyte concentration in the medium and decreased from 2,17 · 10-11 m3/Hc down to 0,50 · 10-11 m3/Hc when increasing an extracellular osmotic pressure rate from 1087 mOsm up to 6636 mOsm respectively.
