Abstract

The article analyzes the dynamics of the level of civil identification of students in Eastern Ukraine and based on the results of research conducted during 2002-2015 by sociologists of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University among post-Soviet (including Ukrainian) students. It is emphasized that justification of this analysis is conditioned by the fact that civil identity is one of the most compromise resources  of solidarization of Ukrainian society. The choice of university youth as an object of study stems from the fact that the students are more affected by various identity policies than other social groups. The article deals with configuration of the civic identity of the East Ukrainian students (form, level, content, interrelation with other types of social identities). It is proved that civil identity have a special place in the system of identification of student youth along with such  local, ethnic and European identities. The author analyzes сorrelation of civic identity with students' attitudes on the events of recent years in Ukraine.
