Dynamics of poverty in Ukraine in 2005-2015

Abstract

In the article under analysis the main dynamics tendencies of poverty in Ukraine in 2005-2015 are analyzed on the basis of statistical and social researches. Specifics of the key features (absolute, relative deprivational and subjective) of poverty are determined. Categories of the citizens who are in need and suffer deprivations are revealed. The analysis of data for 2005-2013, demonstrates that the highest rates reduced absolute poverty. Political and economic crisis of 2014-2015 and Russia aggression struck a hard blow to the economy of Ukraine In general at least 30% of the population became poor. Thus, Ukraine didn't carry out its duties in fight against poverty provided by the Millennium Development Goals.
