ILLUSION OF DECONSTRUCTION: APPLICATION OF DECONSTRUCTION TO THE JACQUES DERRIDA’S ESSAY «THE TOWERS OF BABEL»
Abstract
This article is an attempt to comprehend deconstruction as a way of reading a text. The author proposes to apply deconstruction to Jacques Derrida’s essay «Around the Towers of Babel». On the basis of this theoretical and linguistic experience, conclusions are drawn that deconstruction is not capable of destroying the binary hierarchical opposites existing in the text.
