Photocatalytic activity of gold nanorods оn plasmon resonance frequency exposure
Abstract
Peroxidation processes initiated in a phospholipids suspension by gold nanorods adding and a diode laser irradiation at the plasmon resonance frequency (l=658 nm) were studied using fluorescence spectroscopy and lumimol-dependent chemiluminescence techniques. During the nanorods-containing solution irradiation a dose-dependent production of singlet oxygen occurred. The workability of such type nanostructures as a basis for high-efficient photosensibilizers fit to photodynamic therapy of tumors was concluded.
