Abstract

This article deals with the indicators of natural changes in the population (birth rate, death rate), their territorial differences with comparisons to other countries. Special attention has been paid to the mechanical movement of the population including migration abroad. The article lists major socio-economic consequences of the natural and migration-based decrease of the population. These data will be used by students-geographers of PSU when studying socio-economic geography of Transnistria.
