Information For Authors

General Regulations

"Antiquities" contains articles of theoretical and scientific nature in the field of archeology, ancient and medieval history, as well as related disciplines and regional studies.

Ready-to-print manuscripts in Russian, Ukrainian and English are accepted, and they should be original. The authors are responsible for the content of their publication.

The editors reserve the right to correct the proposed paper. The authors have the opportunity to discuss the changes with the editors while reviewing the proof.

Manuscripts are accepted electronically and in the form of a paper printout (2 copies signed by the author). Materials that break the rules are not accepted for consideration. Unaccepted for publication manuscripts are not sent to authors and are not reviewed.

 

The manuscript should be executed strictly in the following sequence:

  1. Surname and initials of the author/authors (in the center).
  2. Title. No more than two lines (each not more than 30 letters), without abbreviations.
  3. The text of the article.
  4. References.
  5. List of abbreviations.
  6. Summary.
  7. Keywords (from 5 to 10).
  8. List of illustrations.

All pages of the manuscript are numbered. The numbers are in the upper right corner of the page (12 point size of the font).

 

The information about the author (authors) is sent as a separate file and processed in a strict sequence:

– Full Name;

– academic degree;

– field of ​​scientific interests;

– the main place of work and position;

– contact information (home or work address, home or mobile phone, fax, e-mail);

– the date the article was sent.

 

Requirements for the formalization of the manuscript

Texts are made in Microsoft Word for Windows in the format *.doc, *docx, *.rtf (Times New Roman, 14 size, 1.5 interval, standard field sizes).

Text size:

– up to 40 thousand symbols: "Articles", "Scientific Heritage", "Publications", "History of Archeology".

– up to 20 thousand symbols: "Reviews", "Scientific Chronicle".

– up to 10 thousand symbols: "Notes", "Memoria".

The composition of the text includes a list of literature, a list of abbreviations, summaries, signatures of illustrations. In case of exceeding the volume of publication, it is returned to the author for revision or excluded from the print plan.

References to the literature are given inside the text in square brackets.

References to the works of ancient and medieval authors are given in the text in parentheses.

References to collections of epigraphic sources are also made in parentheses.

The works listed in parentheses are not included in the list of cited literature!

The list of references cited is attached after the text of the publication in order of mention. The list includes the full names and initials of all authors. There should be a space between the initials, and the name of the author (authors) is shown in italics. The number of pages and the publisher are not specified.

The list of references is followed by the list of abbreviations.

The text of the article is accompanied by a summary in the English, Russian and Ukrainian languages ​​from 500 to 1000 symbols (including spaces).

The number of illustrations should not be more than ten (for "Notes" and "Scientific Chronicle" – no more than three). Illustrations are accepted either electronically (exclusively in *.tif format), or on an A4 sheet.

 

Proofreading

During reading the article, the author should avoid significant changes and additions, as they increase the cost of the publication. In this regard, the author's edits that lead to new layout, is made by the author’s cash.

The articles are edited by the authors within 10 days from the date of the proofreading. After the expiration of the term, edits are not accepted and the editors reserve the right to correct them themselves.
