K. Myzgin, G. Svistun. Augustus or Vespasian? New data on the old find of Roman coin in Chuguyev
The publication is devoted to new data on accidental find of Roman coin in Chuguyev in the first half of XIX cent. The coin was first mentioned in the work of Filaret and appears as a denarius of Augustus. Similarly, information about it published in all subsequent catalogs of finds of Roman coins. However, archival documents, dating from 1835, denies such a definition of the coin. The paper contains a description of the coin, including the inscription on the reverse (CONCORDIA AVGVSTA), which, together with the nature of the image allow include minting coins at the time of Nero (RIC 49) or, more likely, Vespasian (RIC 357; RIC in 1554, or RIC 1560 [vesp]).
