«ЧИТАЮЩАЯ ЖЕНЩИНА»: ЖЕНСКОЕ ОБРАЗОВАНИЕ И ПОИСКИ ЖЕНСКОЙ НЕЗАВИСИМОСТИ ОТ «МУЖСКОГО ВЗГЛЯДА» В ЖИВОПИСИ XIX ВЕКА

Abstract

Статья посвящена исследованию образа «читающей женщины» как особого жанра в
живописи и особенностям становления феномена «женского чтения» в изобразительном
искусстве XIX века. В контексте гендерной теории и феминистской критики изучено, как
появление «женской литературы» и эволюция «женского интеллекта» отразились на специфике
репрезентации женской субъективности в живописи XIX столетия.

«чоловічого погляду» в живопису XIX ст. Стаття присвячена дослідженню образу «читаючої
жінки» як особого жанру живопису і особливостям становлення феномену «жіночого читання» в
образотворчому мистецтві XIX століття. В контексті гендерної теорії і критики фемінізму
вивчено, як поява «жіночої літератури» і еволюція «жіночого інтелекту» відобразилися на
специфіці репрезентації жіночої суб'єктивності в живописі XIX століття.

Fisun K.G. Woman who read: women's education and searching for women's independence
from "male gaze" in painting of the XIX century. The article is devoted to studies of the image of "a
reading woman" and to the status of the "women's reading" in the consciousness of the fine art of the 19th
century. In the context of the gender theory and feminist critics it was studied how the literocentrism of
that epoch, the emergence of "women's literature" and the evolution of "women's intelligence" reflected in
the representations of female subjectivity in the paintings of the 19th century. Methodology of article is
based on the gender theory and feminist critics. On the basis of Russian and Western European arts,
author researches the artistic images of "reading women" as a new genre in the painting of the 19th
century, revealing the theme of women's emancipation in the 19th century, when one of its main reasons
became a massive book printing, popularization of French novels and securing women's right to
education and intellectual self-development. The researcher is solving the problem of the impact of
"women's reading" on the constructions of the new, more liberal ideas about the role of the woman, her
beauty and sexuality in the public consciousness of the 19th century through the prism of the fine art of
that period.
