Abstract
On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the National Scientific Center "Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology" (hereinafter referred to as NSC "KIPT") it seems appropriate to recall both its background and pay tribute to the legendary founders of the Ukrainian Physicotechnical Institute (hereinafter - UFTI), who in the 30 years of the last century laid the cornerstone in the foundation of the world fame of the UFTI - NSC "KIPT".
