Abstract

This article is devoted to: comparing the peculiarities of the realization of Ukraine’s national interests with the processes of European and Euro-Atlantic integration; Defining the complexity of European and Euro-Atlantic integration; Analysis of changes in the conditions of integration processes in Europe; Connection of formation of political responsibility of national and supranational levels with understanding of integration processes; Outlining the lack of attention to bilateral cooperation with NATO and EU member states in integration issues, it is proposed to emphasize such attention on the part of Ukraine.

Fundamental and central in the process of any integration (foreign - political, economic, military, etc.) is the realization of national interests of Ukraine, which determine the public policy to be implemented by both the government and the entire system of public administration. In any other language, no action in the field of international relations can be justified except through the prism of national interests. Of course, other aspects can also be important. For example, universal values, principles of humanism. But national interests should always remain the main a priori argument.

Thus, the division of powers between the supranational and national levels; shaping the public perception of political responsibility and the consequences of certain processes there is an obvious need to intensify cooperation with the national public authorities of NATO and EU member states in the issue of integration processes. Very often, the Ukrainian government and Ukrainian society seek answers to the challenges of European and Euro-Atlantic integration at the supranational level, ignoring the realities of the formation of political responsibility in Europe. However, these responses are in bilateral relations with the governments of the member states of these organizations.

Considering the understanding of changes in the direction and intensity of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes in the context of the formation of the EU’s international subjectivity and the process of realization of Ukraine’s national interests, we can conclude that the EU and the conditions of the integration process in Europe. The focus on Ukraine’s interaction with EU supranational institutions and NATO governance structures has created a certain lack of attention to bilateral cooperation with member states of these international organizations on integration issues. Thus, the focus should be on the focus on bilateral cooperation with EU and NATO member states to support Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
