Academic Dishonesty as an Element of Ukrainian Students' Academic Culture: the Results of Empirical Studies

Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of certain results of sociological researches "Ukrainian Students' Academic Culture: The Main Factors of Formation and Development" and "Reforms in Higher School of Ukraine in estimates of participants of the educational process" which were realized by V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University sociologists in 2015 and 2016 accordingly. Within the context of Ukrainian students' academic culture determined phenomenon of academic dishonesty, forms of academic cheating and their prevalence scale in the domestic system of higher education. Analyzed students and faculty attitudes to the following basic practices of academic dishonesty as cheating, cribs using, plagiarism. Particular attention is paid to cases of corruption in Higher School and assessment of this phenomenon by subjects of the educational process.
