Abstract

The article investigates changes in teenager’s life-world caused by digital technologies entering the everyday life of the XXI century person. Based on the analysis of empirical data obtained during the survey of schoolchildren in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region it is demonstrated that the vast majority of modern teenagers is involved in virtual world of the Internet, and there is no cultural confrontation «online» VS «offline», which was predicted by a wellknown researcher of new media Norbert Bolz. But there is another problem exists - the purpose of use of technological innovations has a consumer nature; despite of good conditions for digital competences development, most teenagers restrict themselves to the basic skills of navigation in the Internet universe that is not enough for becoming a full-fledged «citizen of the digital world».
