SOCIO-GEOGRAPHIC URBAN STUDIES: EXPERIENCE AND HISTORIOGRAPHY

Abstract

This article is devoted to studying the experience of the research the phenomenon of urbanization and urban development from the perspective of different approaches and scientific concepts in the space-time dimension. The article describes the analysis of many scientific works that have influenced the general development of  urban geography considering that the most intensive research work in the field of urbanization of some settlements and their systems started in the second half of the 20th century.  The importance of the study of urbanization as an important factor of transformation of the territorial organization of social life and quality of life in social and geographical dimension.
