Abstract
The article deals with the problems of terminological systems standardization, carried out in the context of the activities of the All-Union Scientific and Research Institute of Technical Information, Classification and Coding (hereinafter referred to as «ARIICC»). An analysis of a number of scientific works was carried out, it was found out that the scientists searches have been developed primarily in the field of effective methods of record keeping and standardization of industry. At the same time, terminological problems have also become relevant. The measures for standardization of scientific and technical terminology initiated by the ARIICC have been detailed. The article emphasizes that more than 500 research, design and technological institutes, enterprises, etc. had been involved in the work on standardization of terminology in the 1960s and 1970s. At the end of the article, it was noted that ARIICC’s activities provided a centralized streamlining of terminology that met the needs of the national economy. Understanding the peculiarities of the formation of the logical-conceptual and terminological apparatus of the scientific and technical sphere of the society's activity will contribute to the development of national terminology in the field of documentation, information, library and archives.
