Abstract

The study of clinical manifestations of adaptation disorders (AD) in 99 military pro-fessionals retired from armed forces during the period of time from 2010 to 2013 using the unifi ed criteria of ICD-10 and PSE questionnaire (Present State Examination, J.K. Wing et al., 1974) (average age 38.50±3.00) has enabled to reveal two main types of AD: behavioral and aff ective. The aff ective type of AD was found 1.2 times more often than behavioral type (p<0.01). The aff ective type was found to have three subtypes: depressive, anxious and mixed. In the structure of aff ective type the depressive subtype prevailed (p<0.01). The common for all patients with AD psychological-and social stress factor “retirement from armed forces” has been identifi ed; clinical manifestations of types and subtypes of AD (F43.2) have been described. The conducted research showed the necessity of early identifi cation of AD with a purpose of their correction and improvement of the prognosis.
