Abstract

Motivation is one of the key concepts in suicidology, proceeding from the fact that when working with a suicidal patient, it is especially important to rely on the factors he understands, to solve the problem promptly, rather than on the
determinants of a social-demographic nature. The situation of studying the motivation of suicidal behavior in the framework of ATO, in a limited space, at a limited time, practically simulates the conditions of natural experiment. During the work, 409 (2006-2013) and 208 (2014-2016) cases of suicidal behavior of patients were selected and clinically and anamnestically analyzed. In the period
of military operations that pose an immediate threat to life, suicidal behavior begins to carry a different personal meaning, in accordance with which the motivational component of suicidal behavior also changes. The analysis of changes in suicidal activity for various motives showed significant differences,
which suggests the importance of differentiating this aspect of suicidal behavior from both a practical and a theoretical point of view.
