Keywords:

The article dwells on research and teaching activities of M. A. Taube at Kharkov University, his contribution in regional and European medieval studies. It is shown that M. A. Taube continued at this period writing his basic research work «History of Birth of Contemporary International Law (Middle Ages)». He defended the second volume of this treatise –«The Principles of Peace and Law in International Confrontations of Middle Ages» - in 1899 as his doctorate thesis. In spite of certain idealization of knighthood, the monograph by M. A. Taube became the first generalizing work devoted to this circle of problems in the science of our countryDownloads
