У статті аналізується становище у визвольному русі народів
Індійського субконтиненту в перші роки Другої світової війни,
розглядається політичний курс Індійського національного конгресу
(ІНК), який очолював боротьбу індійців проти англійського
колоніального панування, показується участь у народних виступах
інших індійських партій та організацій, їхнє ставлення до політики
Конгресу, до війни та до участі Індії в ній, висвітлюється ідейно-
політична боротьба між окремими партіями та організаціями і
всередині кожної з них.
