У статті розглядаються питання, пов'язані з організацією та
функціонуванням станичної служби в південному прикордонному
місті в першій половині XVII ст. Завдяки залученню архівних
матеріалів автор аналізує походження представників данної
служилої групи та ступінь забезпечення станичників жалуванням
і землею. Виходячи з аналізу та узагальнення джерел, зроблені
висновки про важливість станичної служби в обороні південних
кордонів держави і особливе положення станичників в соціальній
структурі південноруського міста.
