The monuments of the necropolis of Chersonesos contain information about rising of the Christian community in the city. Among such monuments, the most remarkable are the martyrium St. Bazil, the memorial church on «the holy tombs», the Christian painted crypts, and a monument of «St. Martyr Anastasia». These monuments, together with the hagiographical sources, give evidence about the difficulties of the spreading of Christianity. Systematic research of the cemeteries of Chersonesos allows to expand our knowledge about the Christianization of the cities.
